What are the nutritional benefits of using organic sugars instead of refined sugars?

It doesn't matter if you use sucrose (white sugar), raw sugar, honey, fructose, cane juice, corn syrup, whatever. They all have about the same amount of carbohydrate, and that's what a diabetic needs to monitor carefully. Look for recipes that are lower in carbohydrate. Type 2 diabetics typically are told to limit their carbs to 35-40g of carb at each meal. They add up quickly, so the more veggies and lean meats you can use (green veggies are low carb and meat has no carb), the better. If they are Type 1's or on insulin, they can eat pretty much whatever they want if they take the right amount of insulin.
