Why is my hard disk so full?

Did you delete history, cookies, temp files and defrag? Each time you surf the web data is stored on your HD. I didn't like this about windows. My HD kept mysteriously shrinking too. Then I switched to a live-cd linux OS. Solved my problem. Except for the occasional website that only works with IE and windows.
