Can i have some advise on the guitar!?

well.. i have been playin the guitar for 4-5 years i am getting nowhere i have lessons all i can really play is a few songs for example: Ruby , purple haze , the kooks and some others should i carry on if so help me find out how i can improve or should i stop and look at doing something else. i have always dreamed of being a guitarist!
